This is the best take so far of the subject.

Thanks! I feel that is actually less effort in the long run to sketch things quickly and loosely in the beginning it gives me more flexibility than going straight tommodeling

Started streaming on twitch 2 days ago and i'm working on this type of structure, which is a mix of the dome like structures often seen in Star wars, but with a different feel of materials (wood moxxy concrete) to make them fit in a more moist environment, such as a rainforest. lot of fun to work on, aldo experimented with very low samples rendering (the main one has 8 samples)

it is, consider also that in this case, the exact same modifier stack was made on the Human and applied to the other 2 skulls as is, meaning it's very reusable, and allows for consistency across assets

Some experiments i did with converting scans into hard surface procedurally, in Blender, rather than using the geometry node this can be achieved using only the modifier stack in Blender

Patrice LeymarieΒ i totally agree! there's no failed experiment, every experiment either proves or disproves your assumptions.

thank you so much, i thinkΒ  the biggest issue is, I picked a reference for the mood and color palette, and then i designed a subject without having in mind what i expected, as this was meant to be mostly an exercise on rendering. i think in the future i will try to start with the design, then pick a reference for the mood and try to build the concept consistently. It was a nice learning expirience, and i can for sure improve on this concept in the future, for now i'll move on!

Today's study consisted in taking a picture(in this case one i shot in Palermo, Sicily a month ago) and trying to make a concept reusing the mood and palette from said picture. the 3d base is done in blender.
The design is loosely based on star wars style architecture, i was really inspired by Clinton Young's work for the shapes and design of the building.
I also went for a more painterly approach.
Not really satisfied with the result but that's what learning is about
process video soon!

Patrice LeymarieΒ no problem! i was planning to do it anyway!
